Frequently Asked Questions

Is financing available?

You can choose between a reliable financing option and rent-to-own option here at Global Carport. While both are excellent ways to help you get the structure you need and want, for a price you can afford, it’s best to read the requirements for each program first. You can contact one of our sales representatives today for more information.

How long will my building last?

All our structures are designed and engineered with high-quality, heavy-duty, galvanized steel framing. Their overall durability will allow your building to last for years on end.

Do you offer metal building kits?

Yes, we offer steel building kits for all our structure styles. These kits are offered for a lower price; however, it is your responsibility as the customer to have them installed properly.

Do I need to get a building permit?

It is always best to check with your local government department to see if a permit is required before moving forward with the project.

What is the tallest building I can order?

Taking into consideration the height of the leg, you can order up to a maximum height of 20’ tall for free span buildings, and 14’ on RV Covers and other buildings.

What is the widest building I can order?

Global Carport offers a wide variety of options in metal structures offering buildings up to 80’ wide on free span, and up to 30’ wide for regular buildings.

What colors are available to choose from?

We offer 14 color options including an uncolored Galvalume panel. These colors include Barn Red, Black, Burgundy, Clay, Earth Brown, Evergreen, Pebble Beige, Pewter Gray, Quaker Gray, Rawhide, Slate Blue, White and Sandstone.

Why are vertical roofs highly recommended?

Vertical roof structures are installed with vertical panels that run from one side of the unit to the other. The panel orientation makes it easy to channel all snow, rain, fallen leaves, and other debris off the sides of the building and away from the foundation. They are also installed with additional framing pieces, adding to the overall structural integrity of the unit.

What are the dimensions of my metal structure?

The dimensions of your metal structure are listed as width x length x height. The width is measured from outside to outside of the baserail. The length of the baserail is 1’ foot shorter than the panel on the horizontal models, meaning that in vertical models the length will be the same size as the baserail. The height is the measure of the legs on the outer walls.

How long will my metal structure take to assemble?

The time required for a proper installation process will vary based on the size of your structure, additional customizations and the weather conditions in the area. For smaller, standard buildings it can take just a few hours for assembly. On the other hand, larger structures may take a few days to be fully assembled.

How long will it take for my building to be delivered?

While the average lead time ranges from 4 to 6 weeks, this time frame can change based on the size of your building project, your installation location and its weather conditions. For an up-to-date lead time, you can contact the manufacturer in charge of your order.

What are the benefits of ordering a metal structure from Global Carport?

When you buy from Global Carport not only will you get exactly what you need, but you can get your ideal metal building for a price you can afford. We also offer outstanding customer service for any questions or concerns you may have.

What is the difference between a 12-gauge and a 14-gauge metal structure?

Our 14-gauge framing option is the standard gauge size in the metal building industry, measuring at 2 ½” x 2 ½”. This size framing is often used on standard buildings with smaller size dimensions, as well as structures being installed in areas with mild weather conditions. For larger buildings that will be installed in an area prone to extreme weather conditions, we highly recommend opting for our 12-gauge framing. As a thicker and stronger option compared to 14-gauge, our 12-gauge measures at 2 ¼” x 2 ¼”.

What steps should I take before the installation phase of my metal building?

It’s important to prepare the site where you plan to have your metal building installed. Be sure to provide a flat, level area, pour a concrete slab if required, clean the area of debris or trash, and to obtain the proper licensing (if applicable) for your metal building on your property.
